There are many renowned craftsmen and craftswomen in New Mexico. Other sources should be consulted to obtain information about them. It was felt that crafts people should be recognized in New Mexico historical activities and a representative craftswoman has been chosen for this purpose. The article discusses the eminence of Maria the Potter.
