“Popejoy@50” is the story of the 10 year vision of UNM President Tom Popejoy that led to the planning, funding and construction of the now legendary Popejoy Hall which opened in 1966. The video contains many historic photographs of the UNM campus, construction of Popejoy and a much smaller Albuquerque just after WW II.
The free presentation is on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm  at the Albuquerque Museum in Old Town. Parking and admission to the Museum is also free.
The presenter is Aracely “Arcie” Chapa. Chapa is an accomplished broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker. She recently produced a trilogy of films about the history of UNM including Zimmerman@75, UNM@125 and Popejoy@50. She has won several awards for investigative reporting and two Emmy awards for documentary film-making. Chapa will explain how the video was made then answer questions after the showing of the video.
