Presentation of an Albuquerque History Accolade to Herman Bishop

On Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2 pm, we will honor Herman Bishop with an Albuquerque History Accolade in recognition of his exceptional service to both his country and community, as well as his significant contributions to preserving and sharing Albuquerque’s history. As Historian for the Albuquerque Fire Department Retirees Association, Herman has extensively researched and presented on 142 years of local fire-fighting history—from the early days of bucket brigades and horse-drawn equipment to the modern era. In February 2024, he brought this history to life in a presentation to the Albuquerque Historical Society on the evolution of the Albuquerque Fire Department. Read the Accolade.
