History of Education in Albuquerque

Ann Piper - Education in AlbuquerqueAPS principal Ann Piper, will talk on the Albuquerque community’s evolving journey towards providing education to its youth at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Albuquerque Museum in Old Town. Parking is free in the lot south of the Albuquerque Museum. Admission to the Museum and AHS program is free.

Dr. Piper, an AHS member and principal at Wilson Middle School, has worked for APS for over 27 years as a teacher and administrator at West Mesa, Rio Grande and Highland high schools, Jackson and Wilson middle schools, and many summer school programs. Having recently earned her doctorate’s degree at UNM, Piper will present the major trends that area schools experienced as the community grew from a small village into the major metropolis it is today.
